Exactly the kind of rural retreat we like.

Pros: Exactly as we expected a rural retreat to be. It’s tranquility, natural beauty and simplicity. Set in a small mountain village, within woodland grounds and outdoor swimming pool. Its cabin-style accommodation has the comfort and facilities of a hotel. A nice breakfast is available, and a choice of light evening meals/tapas (order in advance). There are some great hiking routes. There are shops and bars in other local villages, but you will need transport. Cristina, our host, was very kind, knowledgeable about the area, and professional. She speaks a little English, but you can communicate well via WhatsApp and using translation on your phone.

Cons: There was nothing to dislike.

A rural, historical idyll

Pros: The historic stone farmhouse (now the taperia, breakfast room and office) are just extraordinary. The gardens are lovely and the pool and sunloungers were the perfect spot to spend an afternoon. We stayed in the pool and garden cabins, and the garden cabin (while a bit more rustic in its facilities and decor) felt like it was in the forest. We woke up every day to an extraordinary view of the huge trees. Christina was an amazing host, and she made our stay very special.

Pros: Unfortunately we came during the rain, but the property still looked amazing. The host is so lovely and all the food is home made and delicious. Our stay was amazing. If you’re doing the Camino, note that the property is quite far from the centre so you’ll need a taxi to get there, but it’s worth it. It’s very peaceful and quiet

Pros: We loved everything. Cristina is an amazing host, always available and kind. The place is absolutely beautiful - the photos don't do it justice. It's a little paradise, very quiet and peaceful, with lots of places to rest and relax. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The breakfast and dinner foods are also amazing. We will definitely come back!

Pros: This place outside of Pontevedra was the highlight of a long journey throughout Europe for my fiancee and I. Set in an idyllic location, the property is exquisite and peaceful and the hosts could not be friendlier or more helpful or accommodating. We highly recommend Veiga Mariña for anyone who needs the perfect place to settle in amidst the mountains of Galicia.

Un fin de semana mágico

Pros: La anfitriona Cristina es súper atenta y te explica los sitios de interés. Dan desayuno y cena, todo lo que pedí estaba muy bueno. Recomiendo el revuelto de grelos y langostinos, y de postre el requesón con miel riquísimo. La habitación espaciosa y limpia. Cuando llegue ya estaba calentita, cosa que agradecí. El lugar es espectacular, rodeado de naturaleza, un remanso de paz. Y puedes hacer rutas a pie preciosas. Sin duda volveré.
