APARTAMENTOS TURÍSTICOS GUIANA

Pros: Location is excellent, right on the other side of the road from the Templar Castle and in the old town. Close to plenty of restaurants and convenience stores. Beds really comfortable and it really was our home away from home for 4 nights. Girls loves it also. Well equipped kitchenette, good for preparing breakfast and simple meals.

Cons: We were 4 and the kitchenette could be a little better equipped, only had 3 plates and 3 drinking glasses and 2 small spoons. Not a major issue as we used the other plates and mugs but it could be looked at.

Pros: Everything was great, perfect location next to the castle and the old city.

Cons: The one downside was the loud music from the café downstairs on Friday night.

Pros: Central location, quiet area, comfy beds, all you need for a short stay in Ponferrada

Wonderful Ponferrada Apartment

Pros: The location of the apartment, directly across from the castle and right on the Camino, could not have been better. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, really well-equipped and spotlessly clean. Being able to machine wash my clothes was a massive bonus.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: The building and apartment is well designed, built to a high standard and well equipped. Our apartment was at the rear of the building and was very quiet. The location is ideal for the old town and Castle. The bar downstairs serves some lovely food at any time of day.

Wry central. Well equipped and a great place to stay when visiting this lovely town.

Pros: Very central. Just across the road from the magnificent castle. Well equipped and nice coffee shop next door for breakfast

Ponferrada Castle right outside windows

Pros: Love the location with Ponferrada castle right outside the windows! Apartment is very spacious, bright and well-equipped. Very close to restaurants, bars and churches. Could not ask for a better place to rest a day before resuming our Camino trek.

Pros: Very good little flat right next to the castle. Location was very quiet. Room was spacious and clean. There is a washing machine, kitchen with microwave, oven, stovetop and fridge. There are dishes, cutlery and things to cook with. Shower was good. Easy check in.

Cons: Not an issue- but there is no reception at the flats so if having luggage transferred you must pick up at the albergue and drop it back off there in the morning. It is only a 5 min walk so not an issue.

Convenient spacious apartment

Pros: Lovely spacious apartment overlooking the castle. Comfortable bedding, great kitchen and bathroom. Great big TV. Easy communication. Fantastic bike storage with pumps and tools to service them if need be. But be prepared: we left our bikes and panniers outside the apartment, then walked to the Albergue to check in, then back to the apartment to unload into our apartment, then we walked the bikes back to the Albergue where we stored them safely in their underground car park. We didn’t mind all this. We did make the mistake of walking uphill from the apartment to find the Albergue thinking Avenida del Castillo was next to the castle. Not the part we needed! Best check Google maps for both the Albergue and the apartments first.

Cons: Too many emails/messages from them after the simple Booking.com email. On line check in, where to check in, how to check in etc. and just when you think that’s the last, up pops an on-line check OUT email. And not one contained a map of the 2 buildings which would have been useful.
