PENSION DE PEREGRINOS LA MODERNA

Pros: Really comfy bed and quiet given it was close to the road. The owners wife prepared a lovely breakfast roll which was left hanging from the door. Nice touch.

Cons: I did miss not being able to get a hot drink or a communal area. I arrived on a Sunday so no supermarkets open so please be aware to make sure you have what you need for the next day if making an early start on the Camino.

Comfortable stay

Pros: Very comfortable and neat and clean room. Two bathrooms shared between about 5 rooms on the floor so didn't have to wait for my turn. Located in the heart of town, with cafes and restaurants at a couple of minutes walk. The owners are very friendly and welcoming.

Cons: No kitchen facilities. A kettle or microwave would have been nice to make a morning coffee.

Nice stop over in Caldas de Reis

Pros: The room was a good size with 2 single beds. Very basic furnishings but ample for our requirements as only staying one night. It was in the centre of town close to all the restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries and pharmacies. Everything you need whilst on the Camino. The hosts wife left us a sandwich each for our journey the next day which was extremely welcome and very kind of her.

Cons: Our room was at the front of the Pension so there was a lot of street noise from cars racing up and down.

Super place.

Pros: Fantastic place - clean, very spacious room, nice and very clean bathrooms. Super friendly owner. Place is in the heart of town. As a extra gift every one gets free sandwich for the next day trip. Highly recommended

Very nice private rooms in a surprisingly engaging town.

Pros: Modern building with rooms available on 2nd floor - no lift. A little dated decor (think 60s) inside, but spotlessly clean and all you could need. Good sized room with comfortable single bed - shared bathroom across the hall. Very hospitable host family - sandwich for a walking breakfast hung on doorknob the night before. Check-in at the beauty shop next door. Right next to the church and a very nice Praza and lots of dining/drinking options within 5 min walk. A very nice stay.

Cons: No air-con or fan, but the big window can be fully opened. Pedestal fan would be the perfect extra touch for summer.

Well priced option for Caldas de Reis

Pros: We had a room with en-suite bathroom. All good. Plus the host left us a sandwich for the next day’s walk. Easy to find.

Cons: It was as described. No major issues.
