Pros: The location is excellent. Just a short walk to the town and very close to the motorway links.

Cons: A modern building unlike some of the Paradors but still excellent.

Value for money, free secure parking. Breakfast acceptable. We did not have dinner.

Pros: Reception staff very welcoming and friendly. Value for money.

Cons: Air conditioning within room difficult to operate.

Lovely overnight stay in this well positioned and well equipped parador.

Pros: Conveniently located on edge of town. Ample on site parking. Clean, comfortable, well equipped. Even had a pool! Staff helpful and friendly. Good restaurant on site

Relaxing but pricey!

Pros: It was in a good location for a short,luxury break in our camping trip. The hotel was very clean and well presented. The food was good, without being exceptional. In fact we had a very late lunch one day, which we made our only meal and it was fine. Breakfast choice was good too. We used the indoor swimming pool, which is small but served a purpose. The outdoor pool was closed. The staff were helpful and friendly. The small town has lots to see and is worth a stop.

Cons: We were somewhat disappointed in the ambience. Paradors are typically in old converted properties but this is just a purpose built hotel and had none of the atmosphere you expect. It was overpriced I thought.

Pros: This was a solid and reliable place with ample on site parking. We didn't get to have dinner or breakfast here but it looked to be very popular with other guests. It also has an outdoor and indoor swimming pool which we didn't use. It is wonderfully located and we really enjoyed our stay here and really enjoyed villafranca del bierzo. A lovely town to visit.

Cons: Staff seemed to be going through the motions rather than genuinely wanting to provide great service

A proper treat

Pros: It’s literally a treat to stay in a parador like this; it’s quiet, calm and unhurried. The staff are friendly and professionally efficient and the bar is a lovely place simply to relax and collect your thoughts.
