Nice stay.

Pros: Beautiful historic property. Little detour from the Camino.

Cons: Had a nice stay, beautiful property with lots of history but if you are against “ hunting trophies” better not to stay there. I was surprised to see the amount little animals from a huge cocodrile to all sort of birds is impressive. I found it a bit disturbing. Besides that is a property with lots of history, beautiful library, although a bit messy.

What dreams are made of! Like a castle from a movie!

Pros: This was by far the best experience I have probably had in my life. You won’t be disappointed. The staff are amazing. The owner was so incredibly involved & we thoroughly enjoyed his stories & history on the home. You must book. It’s a once in a lifetime experience!

Cons: Nothing.

Best accommodation along the Camino Frances. Unique.

Pros: Wonderful staff. Excellent tasty dinner for very good value. The hotel is ornately decorated and yet feels very homely. A unique property. We cannot wait to return again.

Cons: My own fault. Booked a room in the turret. Next time I will upgrade. Some rooms are fab.

Beautiful palace and boutique hotel

Pros: Grand palace that is well taken care of inside and out. The decor in the rooms and around the property made us feel like royalty! The staff was very professional as well. Also the free transfer from Arzua was very convenient and staff were responsive. Great stop for the Camino.

Lovely treat in a beautiful historical country lodge/manor and a real treat on our Camino journey and a very modest

Pros: We had a beautiful room with a huge bathtub to soak away our aches and pains on the Camino. The owner lit fires in the dining room for breakfast and dinner and in the lounge room for us to sit with a glass of wine and read and chat with others. Beautiful home which has been in the same family for over 400 years. We were also collected and dropped back off in Arzua which was complimentary. Dinner was average but wholesome and a good breakfast was provided. Staff were lovely. Especially Lauda.

A real treat off the Camino

Pros: An incredible historic villa turned into a lovely hotel. They are very accommodating and will arrange pick up and drop off to Camino routes nearby. Loved our stay here.

Beautiful hotel, staff and location

Pros: The property itself is absolutely beautiful and steeped in history. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and we got lots of advice on where to explore in the area.

Cons: The only thing I can say that put me off this hotel is the where amount of taxidermy. I didn’t notice them in the pics before booking but upon a second look they are there. There are 100’s of taxidermy and skulls and many of them exotic animals which I felt very uncomfortable about.

Exquisite, Charming and Peaceful

Pros: What a charming property. We felt so fortunate to have found this hotel. The staff and ownership are so caring; truly wanting their guests to have an extraordinary experience. They were super successful with us!! We loved it!! Also, the breakfast was delicious; their grounds exquisite. Such a peaceful and tranquil (and romantic) location. Far enough away from noise and yet 20 kilometers to Santiago de Compostela!

Cons: Not much - was delightful.

Exceptional and memorable- will definitely try to return

Pros: The property was charming, unique and historical. Bathrooms were like in a luxury Scottish castle but bedrooms more comfortable. Food and staff superb. Even a private chapel - would definitely recommend to any groups or individuals doing the Camino de Santiago.

Cons: All good -there could have been a minibus for groups to collect and deliver every morning to the various Camino stages. Taxis were available but we had to wait sometimes. A mini bus with Pazo de Brandeso logo on it would be a useful addition.
