Hotel Casa de Caldelas

Pros: A lovely hotel overlooking a nice square, close to the medieval quarter. Very kind staff. Ideal location if you are planning to explore the area Ribeira Sacra.

Cons: On Saturday night people were a little noisy, but on the other night it was fantastic quiet.

Pros: Lovely historic central location, close to hiking routes. The hotel itself and rooms were charming and well outfitted. The service was friendly, warm and helpful. Excellent value.

Great location, friendly and efficient staff.

Pros: They do not have a restaurant on site - but have an arrangement with one 30 yards away. This is presented so matter-of-factually that it feels as though they are one and the same place.

Pros: The hotel is more like a boutique hotel. All details are well taken care of. We were given an ample attic room, that was very comfortable, with all amenities well working. The room was crystal clear, breakfast is served in the bar nearby, and is quite good and fulfilling (with excellent home made bica). Easy parking around. There's a wonderful common area with sofa and armchairs at first floor, and paintings hanging from the walls are so artistic, we loved every moment of our stay. The staff is extremely welcoming, little English spoken though. Would recommend this hotel hands down.

Comfortable stay in the centre of Castro Caldelas.

Pros: The hotel is comfortable, clean and right in the middle of the pretty town, a couple of minutes walk to the castle.

Cons: We heard conversations from other guests late at night. While not loud, they made it through the walls.

Pros: The apartment was spotlessly clean and a continental breakfast along with great coffee provided made this a wonderful value stop-off.

Pros: Although our room was under the roof and quite hot when we arrived, the air conditioning worked well and the room soon became a pleasant temperature in which it was easy to sleep. The shower had good water pressure and the temperature was easy to adjust. Breakfast was provided at a café 50yards away. It was simple but very pleasant.

Cons: I would have liked to have been able to make a hot drink, but these were available in a nearby bar anyway.
