Anam Cara House

Pros: Wonderful stay in a beautiful place, everything is clean, solid comfortable beds, duvet and towel included. Breakfast with plenty of options. Extremely nice and helpful hosts. And there are chickens and geese! Thank you so much for this stay, it was my favourite albergue!

Great stop-over on the Camino.

Pros: It is a modern clean and airy building. Purpose built I guess. Very good breakfast.

Cons: It’s a bit off the beaten (Camino) track but no problem finding it. It actually is in a lovely calm setting. Bring your own grub for an evening meal.

Pros: Staff was very hospitable. Very clean and modern, as a pilgrim, a must visit albergue! Dorm room had enough space, so you do not feel like somebody is sleeping under your nose and bed linen was super. Breakfast was good. Clean showers. Off the Camino a bit but it is worth the walk.

Pros: I had a delightful stay at this hostel, which offered a quiet and calm location surrounded by charming farm animals. The lockers provided were a great touch, ensuring my belongings were safe. I especially appreciated the morning breakfast made with fresh farm eggs, prepared by the friendly staff—it was a perfect start to my day! The layout of the common area was inviting, encouraging guests to mingle and chat. Overall, it was a warm and welcoming environment that made my stay truly enjoyable.

Pros: This place really deserves all of the great reviews it has already received and I am here to leave one more! I stayed at Anam for 5 nights, seemingly quite unusual as most of my dorm mates stayed only one night while on the Camino. All of them seemed so relieved to get to Anam, often exclaiming 'it's so nice here!' upon arrival. So, it seems like it's a great place to relax and have a bit of luxury while you're on the Camino. For my part, I had a great stay. Super comfortable, it was such a luxury every night to wrap up in the fluffy white duvet! Very clean, and great breakfast. The surroundings are beautiful and really peaceful. Nate manages to walk that fine line of being helpful and friendly, but also leaving you to your own devices if it seems that's what you want.

Great place to stay for pilgrims and non-pilgrims.

Pros: It was modern and clean, and the owner was really friendly. The location is a short walk from any restaurants, so he gave us a lift in his car. He also offered to pick up some groceries for us as he was doing a run to the shops!

Cons: As a pilgrim, it’s a little bit off the beaten track, but it gives you a nice head-start the next day.
