Hotel Rural El Lagar De Las Médulas

Lovely place, we were warmly welcomed by David an md enjoyed our stay.

Pros: Beautiful characterful rural property perfectly placed to visit Las Medulas. Delicious home made local food.

Cons: N/a

A comfortable quick turn around stay with nice evening meal, great nights sleep and nice breakfast.

Pros: We were unfortunately much later than planning in arriving and wanted to eat in the restaurant at the property. We kept the owner who to date with our progress and although we arrived within restaurant time, we felt that had we arrived a little outside of it the owner was still willing to help us out with a meal and so we were really appreciative of this. The meal we then has was really good so a nice start to our stay. We then had a very nice room, it was nicely decorated, very clean and very comfortable. We also then had the offered basic breakfast which again was very nice and so all in all, considering it was a late arrival and fairly early departure we really enjoyed out stay.

Cons: This is not a 5* hotel however, my wife and I did not think that anything could be improved on, it very much was as expected, we enjoyed out stay and nothing jumped out to us as being wrong, or needing improvement and so we would be very happy to book again if in the area.

Beautifull simpel hotel in a restored farmhouse

Pros: Very betaufull simpel hotel. Lucky the Medulas where saved from the fire. So it is still a beautifull place to visit….and then imagion it was a goldmine of the romans.

Pros: Easy communication with the host with flexibility to do the check in.

Cons: More variety in the breakfast would be good

Two days were not enough; I extended my stay.

Pros: Room is 'rural' but really comfortable. Breakfast and eveningmeal were good. But above all: the location; excellent for hiking to Mirador de Orrelan and around.

A peaceful oasis

Pros: Comfortable beds, great food, friendly service (Gracias David) at a reasonable price; well located near Las Médulas. It’s a little off the Camino Invierno but close enough that pilgrims should consider it as an option if they want to visit Las Galerías de Las Medulas and get the best view of this outstanding historical place at the Mirador de Orellán. But a word of warning - best not to tale the Alternative Route suggested by the Wise Pilgrim App from Borrenes, the path is overgrown and uneven from flooding and needs needs maintenance. Better to follow the Camino Real and then take the Senda Perimetral (dirt road) on the LHS of the paved road as you are nearing the town Las Médulas. A much easier route.

Cons: Wifi was a bit patchy but to be expected in such rural areas

Pros: Loved the location. Touring on our motorcycle 🏍 Very friendly and welcoming family. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had a very tasty meal. 😋 Breakfast the next morning was also very nice. Our room and en suite were comfortable and lovely and clean. Thank you 😊

Unusual. Comfy. Peaceful.

Pros: This is a unique place, a renovated farm in a tiny hamlet high on a mountain. Dinner and breakfast are good and the tranquility is perfect.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: It's in a peaceful village and is very quiet. We checked into our room with a code. The instructions we received to do this were very clear making it a simple process. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had dinner that evening which was really good. The guy serving was very friendly and he gave us good advice on ordering dinner. We also had breakfast which was simple and very tasty.

Nice quiet space

Pros: Quiet room with good shower. Plenty of parking space. Nice staff.

Cons: Could have a tv in the room. Internet with lots of failures. Could it have more variety at breakfast.
