Hostal Santo Grial

Pros: Perfect stay for the end of our Camino! Comfy beds, big bath, netflix TV and right around the corner from the cathedral. Spotless clean, lovely old decor and noise cancelling windows, black out curtains. 2 nights, great stay.

Cons: Would love a kettle for a cuppa!

Great choice for comfort and location!

Pros: Amazing Hotel. Beautifully and tastefully furnished and decorated with a lot of attention to detail. The rooms are spacious, airy and light and the beds are super comfortable. There are 2 large cupboards, a small fridge and lots of sockets. We were lucky enough to get a room with a terrace overlooking the square below. The terrace is large and has a table and chairs so it’s a good place just to hang out and chill and soak up the vibes, especially if you’re tired of walking after the Camino. The bathroom, which is separated from the bedroom by 2 doors and a corridor but in the same space as your room, is also large and has bath and bidet as well as a shower. This room felt as though we had our own apartment (minus the kitchen) right in the historic centre of Santiago. The whole building is incredibly authentic with wooden floors and beamed ceilings.

Cons: As many have said it’s in the heart of the city and can be very noisy, not just boisterous late night revellers but delivery lorries too. We were woken at 3 am and 4am the first night but miraculously I slept through it all the second night. Be warned also that the wooden floors creak loudly and the wood on the outside of the building expands and contracts noisily too. If you are a light sleeper my advice is to bring ear plugs cos it really is worth staying here.

Pros: Location, size and contrary to others opinions was quiet.

Cons: Would have liked a kettle. They Did have a fridge.

Pros: stayed here many times before. really like the location and rooms. always very clean and staff always friendly and helpful.

Cons: perhaps blankets could have been provided as an additional layer at night as santiago can be chilly!

Great central location

Pros: Very comfortable, immaculately clean and very central - brilliant location close to the cathedral, restaurants and shops. A warm welcome from our host.

Cons: It was a bit noisy at night (the down side of a great central location).

Preciosas vistas del casco histórico de Santiago

Pros: En pleno casco antiguo se alza este maravilloso ático con terraza. Es un edificio con mucha historia y desde la terraza pudimos disfrutar de la procesión de semana santa y una muy bonita puesta de sol para despedirnos de Santiago.

Pros: Lovely room in an old building in the heart of Santiago de Compostella. Exposed beams and plenty of room to spread out. French windows with rail to watch the world go by Great place to stay after finishing the Camino. As it is the old town, rather noisy with late night celebrations.

Pros: I had a great stay here. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the town. Very spacious room that is full of character. Beds are very comfortable and clean. Well worth the price.

Pros: I had stayed in Santiago after Camino many times before but this was the first time I arrived with a partner so we decided to get a double room - it was a Saturday night and we only looked to book the night before, so a lot of places were sold out and we did pay more than we’d intended. That said, it was quite an experience staying so central with everything on the doorstep. It’s a little noisy at night and with the street cleaners in the morning (the old city is closed off to traffic except for a few hours in the morning for the streets to be cleaned, deliveries, rubbish collection etc.) but we were so tired we slept just fine. I would highly recommend so as to soak up the vibe of the city and I personally would stay here again.
