A great place to relax and get away for a few days, highly recommended
Pros: What a great place to take a break and relax for a couple of days. The hotel is in an old restored monastery with lots of artifacts, objects, books etc to spend time with. The staff looked after us very well, the food was great but note you need to book a table in advance and the location is 'away from it all' so you can decide to just stay there or use it as a base to explore Galicia.
Cons: Everything was great so no complaints!

Beautiful historic monastery in a quiet remote spot near Santiago, good home cooking in the evening
Pros: Beautiful old monastery buildings in a remote woodland location not far from Santiago city with lovely views of the hills. The buildings have been lovingly restored and are stuffed with curiosities and objects d'art. There is a reasonably priced 'honesty' bar. Dinner in the evening is a set menu, with meat alternating with fish. We found it good value at EUR 29.50 for 3 courses and dined there twice. Note that tables have to be reserved by 4pm. Breakfast was excellent as well. There is an outdoor unheated pool.
Cons: There was no hot water for a shower/bath in the afternoon after a long day of sightseeing. We had to wait until morning to have a warm shower. We did report this to management.

Classy B&B with breathtaking views.
Pros: This is a magnificent estate with wonderful views. Our room, Utreia, has a breathtaking view of the swimming pool and valleys beyond. The dinners and breakfast are very nice, and the staff were very kind and helpful. The stay was not cheap, but still very good value for money.
Cons: Just a small detail, but when the sun shines in the room, we noticed quite some dust under the chairs and on top of the cupboards…

I have no words. You have to experience it yourself. It's unforgettable.
Pros: We arrived after the Camino, so we didn't want any street noise. And it was a true paradise. The surroundings are gorgeous, the air is clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The house is stunning, every detail has been thought through, and there are lots of antiques you'll want to constantly admire. You'll feel a sense of solitude, and no one is intrusive. The rooms are gorgeous. Sooooo clean. The food is incredible; the Italian chef cooks amazingly. The breakfasts are delicious. I could go on and on. This place is unmissable. Everything is top-notch. Thank you so much to everyone involved. Special thanks for the cute dogs! Thank you!

Pros: Location amazing up in the hills. Room wow. Views wow. Evening meal set 3 course but still very nice. Honesty bar up in the sports room. You just make a note, and it's added to your bill at the end. Some of the collected items are really cool. The place is just different in its own way, but still loverly. Thanks to Jonathan, who greeted us and sowed us around. Explaining that originally monke stayedthere, then it changed to a farm then hotel. Great value for money.
Cons: Nothing. But be aware of its seriously of the beat track, so there is no phone connection or Internet signal. Television in bedroom ha no signal neither. But not the end of the world.

Absolutely stunning place!
Pros: Our stay at Casa Grande do Bachao, near Santiago de Compostela, was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled in the beautiful woods, with lush gardens and stunning hill views, the location is perfect for a peaceful retreat, yet just a short drive from the city’s historic center and Galicia’s scenic coast. The staff was outstanding, warm and attentive making us feel truly at home. The sparkling pool was a refreshing delight, ideal for relaxing after exploring the region. We had one dinner there, which was excellent, served in a romantic, stone-walled setting. Our room was cozy, spotless, and beautifully decorated with vintage charm. Casa Grande do Bachao is a perfect blend of rustic elegance and warm hospitality. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Northern Spain!
Cons: Nothing, we had a perfect stay!

A little off the beaten track but worth finding - an exceptional place to stay.
Pros: A phenomenal building, literally in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by trees. It felt luxurious yet wonderfully comfortable. We had dinner on our first night, which was amazing value for money and unbelievably tasty – honestly one of the best meals we had on our trip. The swimming pool was a fantastic addition and, at times, it felt like we had the place entirely to ourselves. Breakfast was also wonderful, with everything you could possibly want to eat. A real treasure of a hotel – we will definitely be back!
Cons: It was the perfect stay!
